        Friendly Game vs Truelight

Remember the last time that SGVAC won a game? January 24th, 1999. It has been 3 months since the last victory for the SGVAC Jordanaires. The struggling team finally breaks out of a five game losing streak, defeating the Truelight Knights 42-40 on April 25th, 1999. It's surely a sweet one.

Truelight Knights, with the absence of C Wesley and the departure of F/G Jimmy, G Clement and F Clarence, was a little short of bench power. Only 7 players was available for rotation while 8 SGVAC players were in action. In the first half the Jordanaires had established a lead as big as 6 points but the Knights boldly struck back and the half time score was tied 20-20. F Gabriel scored 9 points in the first half for SGVAC while G Arthur added 6. As for the Knights, the scoring burden fell onto F Johnny's shoulder as he had been responsible for most of the scoring for Truelight.

The second half was a game of trading baskets until F Kinny and G Brian each made their clutch free throws in the final seconds of the game. As SGVAC led by 2 pts, PG Andy of Truelight was fouled and had the chance to tie the game with 2 free throws. The usually reliable free throw shooter however missed them both and the Jordanaires got the long missed "W".

                                 Final Score:   SGVAC 42,  Truelight 40   (W)

F Gabriel (left) scored 9 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the game, one point short of a double-double.

G Brian (left) and F Kinny (right) both had made clutch free throws in the final seconds of the game.

G Arthur (left) scored career high 10 points (6 in the first half) and G Cop (right) had played a solid game
on both the offensive and the defensive end of the court.
