SGVAC, once again showing the league how rusty a team can be, lost two consecutive games on March 7th in the 99 SGVAC Spring Invitation.
SGVAC put out a relative small lineup against the big big James Fellowship basketball team in the first game. Cop, Justin and Michael got their starting debut in 1999. And despite of their offensive inefficiency, their defensive effort was impressive. The three of them combined with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. SGVAC never got the chance to take a lead in this game. However, their tremendous coming-back effort made the final score look like a close game.
Final Score: SGVAC 20, James 26 (L)
The second game scheduled, SGVAC vs Agape was another rusty show for the SGVAC Jordanaires. PF Gabriel might not agree though. For he put up a Rodman like performance in this game, grabbing a career high 21 rebounds and scoring 5 points. That's where the spotlight was. However, the 3 starting guards Arthur, Brian and Wilson had a combined number of 26 turnovers. With such a high number in turnover for the starting guards no team shall be able to win any game. The offense surely looked bad while the defense wasn't that much better. G Solomon came off the bench and created some sparks on the defensive end in the final minutes of the game. He ended up with 3 impressive quick steals and made his first career free throw in this game. G/F Wilson also scored a career high 13 points in this game.
Final Score: SGVAC 36, Agape 42 (L)
